Physical Pain & Injury

Pain is your body's alarm signal indicating an underlying problem. Chronic pain affects every aspect of your life. Research shows that most pain is the result of blocked nerve endings caused by trauma, disease or surgery. Laser therapy helps alleviate that pain by unblocking those nerve endings and speeding up the healing process.

Check out my blogon why the pharmaceutical companies are making millions off your pain!

Laser therapy effectively helps to treat over 60 medical conditions such as:

  • Headaches or migraines
  • Neck or shoulder pain
  • Whiplash
  • Back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Muscle spasms
  • Arthritis
  • Joint pain
  • Carpal tunnel
  • Wrist pain
  • Shingles
  • Tendonitis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Sinusitis
  • Dental problems such as: TMJ, trigeminal neuralgia, toothache, or tooth sensitivity
  • Cold sores

Note: Laser therapy relaxes muscle spasms, which helps Chiropractors to adjust the neck or spine more easily.

How Does Laser Therapy Work

How does laser therapy work?

A low powered laser is applied on identified areas of your body to release a massive amount of neurochemicals (specifically endorphins - your body's natural form of morphine) helping relieve severe pain immediately.

The laser stimulates nerves to help free blockages and reduce pain. Muscle spasms and sIlling are greatly reduced. The laser treatment acts as an anti-inflammatory, and enhances circulation, which will help you move more easily.

The Science behind LLLT

Laser therapy is the application of near infrared light on specific points on the body. This aids in the production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) providing cells with more energy which means the cells are in optimum condition to play their part in the natural healing process. All human cells have a miniature organ within them called the mitochondria. This is where the energy is produced that allow the cells to function. Many chemical reactions take place within this little organ. The famous Kreb’s Cycle of metabolism occurs on the inner membrane of this structure, liberating energy from the chemical bonds present in the ATP molecules. The inner membrane is very sensitive to light. Stimulating it with certain wavelengths of light causes it to accelerate its activity, thereby making more energy available to the cell. This process is called photobiostimulation and is much like photosynthesis in plant cells, whereby a chain of chemical reactions is triggered by exposure to light. The light changes the reduction/oxidation status of the mitochondria which leads to enhanced ATP synthesis (Kreb’s Cycle). Secondly, it effects hydrogen ion levels. The combination of this with increased ATP causes activation of sodium, and potassium alters the cell membrane permeability to the flow of calcium.

When this series of photochemical reactions occur it has the potential to result in the following benefits for the client:

  • Accelerated tissue healing by 40%
  • Reduced or eliminated pain
  • Enhanced tensile strength in tissue repair
  • Decreased edema and inflammation
  • Stimulation of vascular, immune and lymphatic systems
  • Increased callus and bone formation

What does the treatment include?

  • Assessment of the pain
  • Private consultation with a Certified Laser Therapist
  • One phototherapy treatment

How many treatments do I need?

Depending on the type of pain, you will be assessed to determine the estimated number of treatments you will require. Usually pain relief lasts longer with each treatment so appointments may be reduced to monthly or less often.

How much does the treatment cost?

Pain Treatment (Initial session): $75

Booster session: $50 per 30 minutes

My physical pain services can be claimed as a medical deduction on your income tax if it is prescribed by a licenced medical practitioner.

Since laser therapy is FDA approved for pain, some major insurance carriers will cover the cost. It is a good rule of thumb to get prior authorization. I ask all clients to contact their insurance providers to get an explanation of their therapy coverage. Please contact the clinic to get the information your insurance company will require. I can also write a reimbursement letter on your behalf.

Please note: Nu Energy is qualified to treat pain conditions but is not qualified in diagnosis of such conditions. If you are experiencing pain and yet to have a diagnosis please contact a licenced medical practicioner for an assessment. If you have already received a diagnosis I are more than happy to treat your condition.
